Description

Mill on the Brue is a small family run business based in Somerset with a strong environmental ethos. We have been successfully delivering outdoor activities since 1982 and are open all year with our busiest period being between May and September.

We have a number of positions for long term activity instructors to join our team of activity staff. This is a rewarding job of responsibility which requires team working skills, enthusiasm, a sense of humour, loyalty and commitment.
The position will require the successful candidate to deliver our extensive range of on-site activities at a high standard to our full range of residential and day customers, including schools, youth groups and adult parties. We will require the successful candidate to have previous experience of delivering multi activities, have the ability to instruct, good interpersonal skills and a willingness to learn and develop skills. They will need to be flexible and adaptable as the bookings will dictate working hours. We are open seven days a week and over bank holidays.
All Instructors will receive an initial period of training, after which ongoing training and supervision is provided as well as additional assessments in delivering our technical activities.

Requirements

Long Term Instructors are required to start in April/May until December 2012.

The successful candidate should hold a minimum of UKCC BCU (or equivalent) Level 1 Paddlesport Coach (or the old style BCU Level 1 Open Canoe Coach) with valid membership and relevant accompanying certificates (including a valid first aid certificate). It would also be advantageous to hold a GNAS Archery Leader award and/or be a Single Pitch Award holder. We also require successful candidates to have previous experience of delivering outdoor activities.
We will provide ongoing training throughout your contract with us to ensure you have the necessary skills to deliver the activities to our customers.

Closing date for applications: Friday 2nd March (although applications will still be accepted after this date).

Training provided: A compulsory Training Course will be held between the 9th - 15th April (inclusive).
