Earn up to £125 per day working at Goodwood Racecourse!

Goodwood Food is looking for a Lead Chef to work at the Charlton Hunt Restaurant and Main Kitchen at one of the worlds’ most beautiful racecourses. Goodwood is set high on the South Downs and with far reaching views across the Solent.

This role is for a 6 month contract from May through to October.

Goodwood Food, are the official caterers at Goodwood Racecourse, Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival set in the heart of West Sussex. Providing great food and service to all guests in the restaurants, hospitality suites, corporate boxes and restaurants available.

The role will be leading the culinary team in the Charlton Hunt Restaurant for all the horse racing events. The Charlton Hunt Restaurant is the most prestigious restaurant at the race course, a fine dining establishment, with an emphasis on high quality and excellent food and service. The restaurant has outstanding views across the Sussex Downs and the South Coast to one side and an impeccable view of the racing the other side. On arrival guests are served amuse bouche, with a glass of champagne, followed by a three course choice menu and cheese to finish. Guests arrive prior to the racing to dine and then relax and enjoy the racing and rest of the day within the comfort of the restaurant.

Hours and days of work will be determined by the needs of the business and subject to the Working Time Directive and any Workforce agreement that is in place. This will involve weekends and some evening working.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years experience within a fine dining establishment, catering for a minimum of 80 covers.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
  • Effective team player, with a ‘can do’ positive attitude.
  • Able to work within a pressurised environment remaining calm and professional at all times.
  • Experience in managing and developing a team.
  • NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
  • Motivated by a passion for quality and great service delivery.
  • Minimum of Basic Food Hygiene certificate.
