Working with a small team, you will be committed to providing the top-level standards of customer service, hygiene and high quality catering for which Ski Bonjour is known. You will need to perform professionally and consistently throughout the length of the season.

Whether you are working in the largest of our chalets with another chef and a team of chalet hosts, or in our smallest chalets with just a chalet host, your primary objective will be to provide great meals, whilst creating a home from home, happy atmosphere. You will have considerable contact with the guests, and will be looking after them as if they were staying in your own home.

For our guests nothing is too much trouble.

Your responsibilities will include:
•Working with a set menu and cooking set meals albeit with your own twist!
•Twice weekly ordering of ingredients from our on line data base • Kitchen hygiene • Preparation of breakfast (cooked), afternoon tea (freshly baked cakes) and evening meal (3 courses) on six days of the week.
• Preparation of a children's dinner as and when needed • Using fresh ingredients whenever possible, cooked to high standards • Creating meals with high standards of presentation • Catering for special diets as and when needed
We cannot overstate the impact that our staff have, on the success of our business and more importantly, the enjoyment of our guests' holiday.

You MUST have: A fantastic sense of humour, an eye for detail, a strong sense of responsibility, great interpersonal skills and outstanding work ethics.

You must have skiing or snow boarding experience and have a passion for the mountains.

As well as your cooking abilities, you should possess at least two of the following skills:

  • Previous hotel/restaurant experience
  • Experience working away from home before, preferably abroad
  • Clean driving license
  • Good conversational French
  • DIY/maintenance experience
  • Computer skills and good numeracy abilities.

This job is not for shrinking violets! You must be outgoing and confident!
All applicants must be physically fit, be a non-smoker, have a full UK National Insurance Number, UK passport or UK work permit valid for the duration of the season and UK bank account.

Please do not consider this job if you smoke, or use illegal drugs of any kind.

We do not consider that the participation in one of the many chalet chef one or two week courses is sufficient experience for our employees! We generally consider that under 21 year olds will not have had sufficient experience in the workplace to cook to our standards.
