Competitive + free uniform, meals and accommodation
PGL is the UK's leading provider of residential activity holidays and study courses for young people.
We’re currently looking for a Chef to join our Catering team at our Dalguise Centre in Scotland.
Dalguise is an 18th Century Scottish Manor House, formerly the holiday home of Beatrix Potter. It is set in 58 acres of Craigvinean Forest with stunning views of the Tay Valley. The centre has excellent access to adventurous activities and stunning scenery. The nearby town of Dunkeld has all essential amenities and Glasgow and Edinburgh are approximately an hour away.
Our guests spend their day’s mountain biking, climbing, quad-biking and orienteering and building up a large appetite so our Chefs are crucial in keeping our staff and guests happy!
Using as many fresh ingredients as possible, you'll provide first class nutritious meals and have the opportunity to increase your responsibility without taking sole charge of the catering operation. The majority of our guests are under 17 so meal times are early and as a result, our Chefs rarely find themselves working beyond 8pm.
As a Chef, you'll report to the Head Chef and be able to develop your all round catering skills and awareness, which includes cooking, ordering and accounting of stock and staff supervision. This provides a great development opportunity for an aspirant Head Chef of the future.
Positions at PGL are based around learning and development in a rewarding, supportive environment where the emphasis is on fun - and gives you the chance for real career progression, training and qualification opportunities. However, previous catering experience is essential for this role.
This is a residential role, with an onsite accommodation package and meals included. You’ll also receive a competitive wage and free uniform (no bond required). You'll also have the opportunity to live and work with like-minded people from around the world in a friendly team.
