Catering Manager

A Catering Manager in a health club or leisure centre works to ensure customers are happy with the food and service provided in the establishment's restaurant or cafe. You could work front-of-house in a restaurant or back-of-house in the catering operations. Either way, you'll be responsible for the overall management of catering and food production operations; everything from staff management to menu planning, organising shift patterns and controlling stock levels.

To work as a Catering Manager you'll mainly need lots of prior experience in hospitality and catering work environments. A good standard of education, often supplemented by an NVQ in Food Service, is highly beneficial. You may be able to get training and certification through a previous catering role or a management trainee programme.
